Recycled Glass Bottles Used for Insulation?

We recently worked with local insulation installer, ECI Insulation, to identify and install a sustainable and energy efficient batt style insulation for areas of the Shevlin Commons Home that were not constructed with SIPs.  Using the the "Prescription for a Healthy Home" Guidelines,  it is important to use non-toxic building materials.  EcoBatt® doesn't use any phenol, formaldehyde, acrylics or artificial colors that are commonly used in the production of traditional fiberglass insulation.  Even more interesting is the inclusion post-consumer recycled bottle glass, which is mixed with sand to create an batt that is has excellent insulating value.
